Laugavegur Trek - Iceland

Here's my Alltrails Laugavegur Trek from Iceland in June.  Such an amazing place - it does not look like it is from this world. Every 10 k or so it looks like a completely different landscape - from boiling water coming up through the ground, across ancient lava fields, black sand deserts, high snow covered mountain ridges, down into the lush forests of Thorsmork. It is extremely popular and apparently it is very crowded in mid summer. We had the fortune of doing it in early season when the road was even closed so we had the trail mostly to ourselves.

I did the trek through G Adventures with a great group of Canadians, Americans, Australians, and British people of a wide age range.
I highly recommend G adventures as well.  It was well organized, good pacing and the guide was amazing, telling us jokes and good local information and stories I would have otherwise not known.   In some ways it makes me feel like cheating, as our main luggage was transported from camp to camp and we only had to carry day packs during the day, but it was much more comfortable and I made many friends on the trip - all great people!
